as many people that claim to be responsible law abiding gun owners in this state you would think that if one of their guns was stolen they would report the theft to the police. gun owners who dont secure their firearms should be held responsible if their owned weapon was used in an illegal manner or teach children that it is a tool not a status symbol like the current fashion trend

@mariekastler5391 the pure negligence is having a fire arm and not being smart enough to secure that firearm. for a state and so many people that i have known thru my life all the gun loving crazies only talk about having one. nothing is ever mentioned by the very same people about treating it with respect, cleaning it properly, and keeping it in a safe secure place. if people are going to put their stupidity out on display, then just leave your weapon right out on your front porch

well if you are a responsible gun owner you wouldn't report that it was stolen ?

@PunkSlapper123 if your weapon is stolen and you dont report it, when some commits a crime with that weapon who do you think the cops come looking for first . and the excuse "i forgot to report the theft" wont fly like it does on TV

@mariekastler5391 with the power you have the responsibility to use it correctly and properly. far too often you have politician posing with a weapon of some sort like it is their whole identity. the only thing i am thinking is, if that is your identity then you dont even know who you are. it was my duty and my responsibility to teach my children how to use a firearm correctly. in all aspects. to clean it and why. also to store it properly and why. much like the recent law requiring people to prove their age for porn sites, people are too willing to pass the buck along for their own personal responsibility. it is your responsibility as a parent to keep your children away from things you dont want them around, or you shouldn't of had the child. it is your responsibility as a gun owner to secure that weapon. if you can't then you shouldn't own one the people were willing to pass off their personal responsibility to the state before, no reason to get butt hurt passing it off this time

how is something that is such common sense unconstitutional ? i have many guns and it would be plain stupid of me not to secure them or to report that one or all were stolen
2
@KhorneFlakeFan so you dont think it is a responsible thing to do to secure a weapon and to report that you had one stolen ? that is all this bill is for

@mariekastler5391 its Louisiana all the water here is muddy. but go ahead and be stupid and not report gun theft. see who the cops come to talk to first
