cheating is bad enough but the irony of cheating on the ethics portion is just beyond hilarious

when ever i hear of a law like this my first thought is the financial windfall for the state
75
still my legal question is ,are these lawyers suggesting that an inanimate object is a defendant of a crime? if so then would that defendant not have rights under our legal system ?
50
all this will do is make people think twice about contacting the police after a crime, or if they even contact the police at all
48
a seizure should only take place AFTER there is a charging and conviction of a crime !
43
sounds like some guys wife got pissed about where he was getting his coffee
18
well once the supreme court decides that being immune from any action because of their, the police, shitty actions and are directly held responsible, because of their actions , you might see police departments conduct themselves in the manner they should. we hear people talk about being responsible for your own actions........unless you are a cop
14
im sure that with how high the energy bills are in some places a class action suit might be valid
14
the very same thing is happening here in Louisiana all the way back from Hurricane Ida. insurance companies are slow rolling and not releasing documents, and there are no laws telling them to. the program Restore Louisiana is just as bad with all their red tape. here it is coming upon a hurricane season that is predicted to be the worst in 10 years. lots of people are getting screwed over and there is nothing we can do or no where to turn
9
i saw the original story the guy has no drivers license , no registration on the car, and was even given a fist bump by a cop after giving him a ticket stop being so nice to the guy and put him in jail.
9
exactly. with the courts themselves saying that police officers can lie and are shielded legally that why would and juror assume that what any police officer testifying was telling the truth
8
did you say Armstrong, or Strongarm ?
7
@2olvets443 i believe you can ask for one via email
6
wasnt HUSTLER MAGAZINE sued for the same type of parody ? granted it was done in print media.
5
great shirt. such a great song
5
again i ask who in their right mind would ever live in an area governed by an HOA
5
im thinking someone on this council might own a car wash or two
5
@2olvets443 thats kind of the bad point of it you know they are more then likely doing wrong but the vast majority of people dont have the money to hire a lawyer to call them on it . im fighting the very thing with hurricane damage from last year. got insurance money, was only enough to do my roof , and i still have damage. and the company said you wont get another penny
5
@montezuma6962 yes they are, but only themselves
4
ive done that job my self for The Daily Iberian. part of what gets me is that i have heard police occasionally say " they are always on duty". this report is "an off duty officer". well which is it always on duty, of occasionally off duty. cause if they are always on duty , then the city and or the department could become culpable for actions of this officer in a lawsuit
4
i am forwarding this to ever member of the house and state senate of Louisiana as well as contacting other local news channels if a attorney was smart they would contact the plaintiffs of each case and file a writ for them to get the money. i live about an hour outside of New Orleans, and i tell you to force them to pay what they owe
3
@christking85 " its what our society produces garbage in garbage out" George Carlin
3
isnt there more than 1 vin location. just to see if the multiple vin #'s match?
3
well they are a cheep faith based company nothing or no one will bait and switch more than religious people
3
so much for taking the road less traveled.
2
why stop there force a couple to pay the mortgage for someone else
2
@Sapiens_Imperialis thats not hypothetical at all. that happens all the time. that is when the police should do the job they claim to do when harassing people with cameras. investigate. now a days you cant go any where or even so much as pick your nose without a camera seeing it
2
Legal Egale said the very same thing about going to law school. it taught you nothing on how to be a lawyer
2
like Lowes doubling the price of lumber and repair materials here in Louisiana after a hurricane comes thru
2
but the bill they are advancing to get rid of inspection stickers is much worse. people should check that out
2
IF THE GOVERNMENT CAN USE THAT ALONG WITH IMMINENT DOMAIN TO TAKE WHAT EVER THEY WANT , THEN DO WE AS CITIZENS REALLY OWN ANYTHING ? OR WHAT IS THE POINT OF OWNING ANYTHING
2
in thinking of this case, it makes me think of the broader implications on a federal level with everything coming out of Trumps mouth
2
what if the home is owned by 3 different people such as in a succession or inherited property
2
a simple addendum to the law could simply read thusly, suspect must me convicted of a charged crime before and asset forfeiture can take place
2
he was traveling along the Atchafalaya Basin Bridge . it was first reported by WWL TV that he was dont 90 mph in an official police suv. he was not responding to a call or anything. had anyone else jumped out of their car and not been a cop we would have been shot. this is why you always record the police. they cut up their footage, but they cant touch yours
2
PRO SHOP TIP don't buy a house on a golf course
2
it is also a massive problem in the tech and cellphone industry
2
the you tube channel scammer payback does check them out some of the videos are very funny
2
GOVERNMENT OVER REACH INTO THE REALM OF OPRESSION !
2
@donovanhill7367 i totally agree. then you would have a legal basis for the forfeiture of said assets
2
@jerry2357 welcome to u.s. law where even the police are as corrupt as the politicians . and have to act dishonestly
2
imagine if everyone did this
2
stop calling it a toll. call it what it is a tax for the state to get the money back that was spent on that bridge.
2
i had to re-roof my own house just to save money after the hurricane, and i had no idea what i was doing, because all the companies came here with jacked up prices and take damn near 80% of your insurance money
2
@Islandwaterjet you dont understand . that was for just the roof alone . 6 hrs of 150+ wind there was other damage they wanted to charge 18.000 to put on a metal roof . which wasnt even the cost of material which was another 6k. so i had no choice to do it my self. what im pointing out out of my own experience that you are clearly missing is the predatory practices of companies during times of crisis. that is what you should have taken away from my previous post. clearly you missed that.
2
@christking85 you should try to tell the elected republicans to try reading books instead of banning them
2
wow what a shock . who could have guessed. as long as your personal data can be sold or traded it will never stop someone should do it to congress and put their personal data out to the public. then it might stop
2
Norms light still lives
2
unjust enrichment, some people have said that also includes the fees lawyers charge
2
people just now are figuring out how predatory ticketmaster is? those of us old enough to remember being able to buy tickets at record stores, or even at the venue its self
