all this will do is make people think twice about contacting the police after a crime, or if they even contact the police at all

@Sapiens_Imperialis thats not hypothetical at all. that happens all the time. that is when the police should do the job they claim to do when harassing people with cameras. investigate. now a days you cant go any where or even so much as pick your nose without a camera seeing it

@Sapiens_Imperialis i see your point, but knowing human nature from the various places i have been to and seen. placing a witness into protective custody would be far better than locking them up. locking them up just to ensure they testify will only make people want to report crime far less than they do now. there is always a different way
