@nightfall3605 to me personally it just represents the current pride in have in my south Louisiana culture. the food you cant find anywhere else , mardi gras, etc etc. i'm sure people in other parts of other states all over the country have the same type of pride about where they are from. do i fly the thing at my house , no i do still have some respect for those around me. i do fly the American flag and the us army flag tho do i want to see the statues that were taken down preserved, yes . just for the artistic value they have. do i hate the fact that there are people who want to oll back time and "make america great again" live when rich white people could own another, and that fact that slavery still exists today. if anyone thinks and believes that one person could own another should be removed from the human gene pool

if you wish to ban a flag of one confederate unit, then you must also equally ban the "N" word use. just as that flag is seen as racist i see the word white people cant say as racist . now i have heard of a famous celebrity say " we took that word and made it mean something different. we made it our own" ironically that was accepted. ok fine then why can someone make that flag mean something different in the same way . it is a legit question for debate

@kathryngeeslin9509 exactly . take that very same symbol of hate bigotry, and some of the most vile actions you could possibly think of , turn it 90 degrees and flip it over and you can find iy no some of the most revered statues of religious deities in history. if the Nazis can take something begin and make it a symbol of hate , can we not also do the same in reverse. i am southern by birth and by lack of financial mobility. now some of this is my own personal fault due to youthful stupidity , but others of politics not of my own design. what i can have have done if pose that very question to black friends i have to which it left them scratching their heads. most of whom responded with" i never thought of that " i would tell any and every smart person i could and ask them that question
