but as we have seen with other things, once you start with one, it is only time till the rest follow

@rhondah1587 so not the USA. try sticking with this country. or go move there.

@rhondah1587 are you suggesting that i am not trained or qualified enough not to defend my family home or property with an AR-15 or other similar type weapon system? i really hope you are not doing that, because my Army DI's would be very disappointed at the failure of their training.

@ClaudiusCaelum you are welcome to that free speech that some of my brothers and sisters that never made it home alive gave their lives for you to enjoy from the comfort of your basement while you hide and are too afraid nor have the courage or intestinal fortitude others did. you're welcome.

it is as is many things, the manner in which it is used. i can clearly defend my home with an AR-15 or any similar weapon system. i am all for restricting actual war weapon systems to the military themselves, as long as exceptions are not made for police departments. if i cant own one, then the police don't need to own them either.

@ClaudiusCaelum there in lies the difference. you have no clue how i was trained or that i was taught to consider every time i pulled the trigger that not only the life i was taking, but what i was also allowing to live. the weapons instructors i had long before i ever enlisted in the Army was my WWII serving grandfather. police are trained as hammers. to a hammer everything is a nail. police forces were kept on the knifes edge of fear for 20 years after 9/11. if you want to flash that child anger you cant seem to control, the direct it to where it belongs, not to someone looking for compromise between two sides that have no idea what that is anymore

@ClaudiusCaelum you made no argument, only tried to put me in the same position as corrupt police officer i.e people who should have never had a badge to begin with first off, i am not a LEO but yes we did get some basic type of "deescalation training". in the military we call it RULES OF ENGAGEMENT. reading the second part of this tells me you have some history here that has clearly given you a certain point of view that you see every weapon that exists as evil as well as the people who wield them.

@ClaudiusCaelum you want to leave it to the largest citizen, federally funded gang in the history of the country? these are the very same people have problems with de-escalation , and whose departments have been and will continue to be sued due to their lack of gun control. even the most basic E-1 private gets better weapons training than some high school bully that didn't get his college football scholarship and has no other options but the police, and continues hiss bulling tactics. well i know how to fly a plane because of a flight sim on my computer, but that doesn't mean i know how a plane feels when i am the pilot. and the instincts developed over years of flight time in the seat. states like Louisiana passing laws that require no training or licensing to carry a concealed weapon is just insane to me. the very things you said you were taught , i was also taught long before i was bought my first gun at the age of 8. which was a .22 rifle. which was bought by my grandfather. i was taught that any weapon system was nothing more than a tool. no different than a hammer, shovel, or anything else. he taught me it is not the weapon that kills it is the heat of the person holding the weapon that does. leave any weapon on a table. stand there and wait to see if it gets up to kill some one. i bet it does nothing but sit there. people are the problem not the weapon. it does exactly what it was designed to do

you are allowed to think anything you want, unless Trump is elected. but might i suggest thinking first in a logical manner then come up with a response
