if those orders are unethical then you are covered by the ucmj to decline following those orders. where was officer Micheal Fannone when this town needed an officer with courage

@tankcommander33 then people need to ask what changed. i knew police officers that deeply felt and thus by action that it was inherent in their duty to uphold the law, to protect the people. no one said their actions were illegal. my D.I. taught me that courage is developed in the face of fear. being fearful, and still getting the mission complete is courage

@tankcommander33 we all know police officers have no duty to protect the public, to which the phrase"to protect and serve " should be stricken from any and every police car across the nation. we know there is no law saying an officer has to run into a hail of bullets, but i guess that why the CMH is military not civilian. these are people who we the citizens give awesome power to everyday. they are entrusted with upholding law and order. they also have the power to take life, should we not also expect them to have the power to save it. even with their very lives if needs be. there is always a story somewhere about an officer being killed in the line of duty and, i am going to catch hate for this, but was in defense of their own life or a civilians life. when i wore BDU;s i understood that deployment to a combat zone meant the risk of hostile fire and being shot. i accepted that risk proudly. with all the excess military equipment from 20 years of war making its way into police departments and on civilian streets, i have to say it really seems like the police are becoming the military, and if so, more should be expected of them

@ruthpoe4011 no thanks necessary. the money was good the scenery changed a lot and i got to blow things up for a living. cant get better in civilian life

where was all this tech that police use to track down criminals on the run not one of these cowards was willing to do their job and put their life at risk to uphold the law
