I don't think these people realise that games are pretty much just another way of fidgeting with your fingers us humans crave stimulation constantly because when we don't get it we become overwhelming bored it's been shown we choose pain over boredom games are just a way of keeping us entertained preventing us from doing anything drastic because as extreme as it sounds someone can kill to relieve boredom and if you don't believe me just try sitting next to the things you love and do nothing for hours and hours I guarantee you won't last the first 2
