I was never left alone mpby my parents in the 70s nor where mine and i do not know anyone they are now who ever did .....also myself and 4 sisters in the 80s and 90s were booked up almost everynight to babysit at neighbours are family friends etc, even for as little as one hour...we are Idish ,so maybe was a Thing done in scotland ,England , but i donnit think so
