How about UK border passport control do their jobs ?that way would not be in UK or Ireland .. it's UK Passport control not checking non citizens cross that is causing this issue .. that is their job and part of the common travel area between the Countries, UK know this and do not care .yet again it's Ireland that gets shafted.. you can control your border between France it is out of Ireland hands who you let in a d out of UK
