Can just imagine the laughter ...I was born in Cork..but moved west to Galway when only 3..we spoke soo fast they did not understand..when went to school I actually stopped talking as teacher always said pardon after answered anything !!! Still at times when my mom speaks. Especially to her own family..I either burst out laughing or just nod..The world is alot smaller than we think or else us Irish have shagged🤣 our way around the world!!

The Jamican Patois and some dialects in Ireland are soo similar it's hilarious...if you listen to people from Cork or Waterford ..it's a lilt almost singing !! And also almost identical to the older accents in Newfoundland....all 3 could pass for each other .....you did make me laugh 😂 you have good strong genes in you girl......laidir le cheile ....=stronger together in Irish (Gaelic)☘️🇯🇲

Your relatives would have been Anglo Irish ...ie English ... They were the ruling class in Ireland given the stolen big houses and farms of the Native Irish ........as a result rich and monied and power......Those whom emigrated mainly went to the Colonies ...many becoming plantation owners within that colony.....and unfortunately with that and along side the working class Scots Irish ...ie English /Scottish ..people thought Irish were slave owners , outliers etc where as in fact they were just repeating the overtaking of owning of the next colony as previously had done in Ireland.
