Just chiming in with some context here: Anyone who's intimitely familiar with tech knows that incidents like this are unavoidable. That's why competent companies in the industry operate on a model of "maximum learning" from incidents like these, as opposed to "these things can never happen". The source code is, of course, written by engineers who are intimitely familiar with the code, and are specialist in their respective domains. As they design their software, they're actively looking for ways in which they themselves can crack it. If they can, that's something that needs to be fixed. The above are some of the reasons why breaches like this really aren't as big of a deal as they may seem, and why some of the most prestigious tech companies in the world, who consequently have some of the best security experts in the world, have no issues with using lastpass.
