@yohaneschristianp farmers "feel" neglected sure. a sector oversaturated with labour. their feelings are an iron noose around the country. Not every farmer should be a farmer the fact that they are proves the shortcomings of oir educational and business environment. The labour tied up in agri should've been put to good use in manufactuting if the labour laws and physical/power/edu infra where in place. but alas this is India.

Indian civil society is pathalogically against capital in any form. strikes and lockouts are a part and parcel of our country. I blame the elements in the Independence movement that drove us down this path and the later on the political masters that reinforced and perpetuated the kind of idealistic stupidity that still permeates every nook and crany of the country's governance and economic structures.

@Urgelt what you said would require critical assessment of ones own countries capablity an overwhelming majority of Indians are simply not ready for that. you are trying to make a persuasive argument to a brick wall.

@sampadmohanty8573 @Sampad Mohanty the irony in your statement is just hilarious, what multidimensional parameters do you find overlapping between countries like Japan, China, Taiwan and S.Korea. Throwing in buzzwords like geopolitics without understanding what it is just plain embarrising as to India's favorable demography We are yet to have a functional set of labour laws as to the East Asian states, they are remarkably homogenous ethnically and linguistically that allows for political consolidation thats impossible in India at the federal level (at the state level, maybe) plus India's political scene is fundamentally left leaning populist, that pretty much scuttles any chance for pragmatic outcome driven governance and organizational flexibility. We dont have a Li Kwoh Ting or a Morris Chang, we dont have Keirutsus to rely on, even if we get anything running the INDIAN DEMOCRACY wont allow them to take off. plus the environmental effects of fabs make it just too untenable, The Indian public will behave like the Indian Public. We what happened to the copper smelting plant right ?. Get your head out of your Ass. India will never be where china was last decade, not in this century. The core of India was decided and structured to be a populist cesspit and it shall be so until its restuctured. OP ie right Silicon Valley's prominance came from giants like William Shockley's efforts as well as a very favourable business and Scientific ecosystem(Uni's without political interferance) that even now permeates the American system though in different regions than in the past. Lets talk about China, Taiwan and Japan and Singapore. Taiwan had support from Chang and Philips same goes for Singapore. Japan had first mover advantage and a very competant state bureaucracy which India cant conjure even in her dreams. Plus all these states had pretty much crushed an kind of left wing politicians and/or movements, Dont see that happeneing in India(May be in Andhra pradesh but even then, too much is required of our politicians)

@Urgelt Its just populist measures meant to get into the nxt news cycle. But hey atleast they are doing something. Those of us in India can do nothing but cross our fingers and pray we sure as hell cant rely on a steady, reliable and continous set of hands for competant governance. if anybody'd paid attention to the Indian publics response to legislative reforms they'd know. The whole foundation of my nation relies on a set of faulty and dysfunctional parameters, so cant say our past and present failures are surprising.

@sampadmohanty8573 Every measure you accused OP of ignoring are factors you seemingly have no clue over especially in the Indian Context. If Indians are leaving India, it is because they have favourable offers elsewhere. a democratic socialist cesspit can only offer so much, ergo why we send our best and brightest abroad where they can make something of themselves instead of staying in India(settling for less) and get caught in the political and economic consequences of delusional ideologies and political incompetance, anti-business bureaucracy with its imperious and arbitrary behaviour held together by a populist democracy.

@浦和-f5y Taiwan if currently focuses on mid to high end chips. Malaysia is better positioned to take over from Taiwan than India is. They already have a chinese minority(might requite some political gymnastics) or even Thailand could step in. What ever India can bring to out shores will at best be low end chips the kind thst goes into things like smart speakers and roombas(good but not the strategic anchor you are looking for).
