  1. he is right about the falling birth rates and bubbles in chinese economy. But those arenot Xi's fault. They predate Pooh. PRC's problem was that they jumped the gun and drank the jingoistic koolaid before they became high income country which would have taken atleast no later than 2060 to acheive. But as we know they jumped the gun. with a collapsing birth rate they'll soon haveto rely exclusively on exports to prop up the economy, like the S.Koreans or Germans. The Japanese figured a way out but they already got rich before their bubble popped so they offloaded some of their export driven industrial bases abroad closer to the end markets in the last two decades. Japanese are smart like that when the chips are down they dont let ideology get in their way.

  2. people talk about him as if he's the anti-christ. I think he's smart but ultimately self righteous and an idealistic moron who has access to vast quantities of capital which he deploys to promote his idiotic beliefs. Dont attribute to malice that which can be explained by stupidity.
