Russians can afford to be isolated because they have the basic building block of a modern society within their borders, being Energy and Food. China is an importer of both. As long as US Navy rules the high seas China is always under threat that's discounting it's strategically competent neighbors

  8. This is what the extreme sections of the BDS morons are trying to challenge(they might well succeed in time but it wont be pretty). They are going against the Survival instincts of a people that was forged in more than a millenia of suffering and abuse. Even the next most abused group the african americans having nothing comparable.

  9. Also I think national psyche would come into play in this scenario. Our political elites and the citizenry would be itching for such a fight, it would be seen as the equivalent of balancing the historic scales for more than two centuries of colonialisation, and that i think can be a powerful motivater to force your former(somewhat cruel) master to capitulate, that would be a huge morale booster for the nation, We would probably consider that moment to be the one where we have 'arrived on the global scene', kinda like coming of age scenario, comparisons will be made to the American revolution.

  11. Having weapons doesnt mean Californians know how to use them. Just like having overwhelming number of guns doesnt guarantee Texan victory. Personally I would favor Texas, They are a bit rough around and set in their ways but unlike their would be opponents arent self righteous idiots.

  14. Our Navy has far to go before we can challenge the Brits on the High Seas. Our Air Force on the other hand, there is potential there.
