  1. Heavy restrictions on unionization was their trump card. Unions were even allowed until the first half of the last decade and even then were heavily restrained. Labour Intensive manufacturing and Skill based manufacturing will not succeed without restrictions on labor activism and industrial unrest. It's what happened in Taiwan, South Korea, Japan, Singapore and now in PRC and Vietnam.
