  1. proxy war would imply that russia is using another nation/anonymous units, as a proxy thats not the same thing, False flag is the process of using units anonymous and/or military assets of unknown origin inorder to preserve deniablity and divert attention. Training excercises they've been conducting along Ukraines border has been on conventional lines(probably posturing). plus a full scale invasion would require active russian c&c assistance, doesnt mean it'll stop them.
