Despite the historical reputation of being militant and imperialist, the Pacific nations that share the region with the CCP voluntarily host US military installations. It's unusual in history that so many nations decide to surrender sovereignty to be under protection of a superpower.
The primary disadvantage of Mainland China is that nearly all of its neighbors see it as a existential threat to their economic and national security interests. China and Russia are part of a growing international alliance, but there wouldn't be a US global hegemony without hostile adversaries like Russia (Soviet Union), China, Iran, and North Korea.
I know there's plenty of global war talk and rumors, but neither the US nor the CCP will directly attack each other. There's saber-ratting and an escalation of tensions, but unless either country is attacked first, there won't be a direct conflict. Proxy wars, cyber attacks, arms races, economic warfare, and intelligence operations have made direct wars among permanent members of the UN Security obsolete.
