It's a provocative move to continue arming Ukraine as they defend their homeland against a Russian invasion, but it would be suicidal for Putin and the Russian armed forces to expand the war and bring in NATO troops. Putin is already struggling with Ukraine and the economic warfare from the West. Nuclear weapons or not, bringing in fresh NATO troops with a combined military budget larger than the entire Russian GDP wouldn't end well for Moscow.

  8. It's an medical ethics question, and I do have sympathy for family. Unfortunately, he's made his decision and the no one going to forcefully vaccinated him, and their not going to tell him the vaccines are without risks. That means he's refusing both the transplant and the vaccine. It's not political at all. It sounds like he doesn't want to prolong treatment and issuing an advanced directive. There are too many people on the waiting list for organs, and the doctors aren't going to have someone with no medical background lecturing them on natural immunity versus vaccine-induced immunity.

  9. Every American has the right to due process, fair trials, and protection against vindictive/politically motivated prosecutions. Despite that, I cringe everytime I see a new self-incriminating post from Trump on his version of Twitter. The Justice Department and law enforcement are already familiar with his media tactics. Everytime he leaks information, they follow up with their own media campaign and court filings. I don't know why he thinks he's going to intimidate the government into dropping the charges.

China isn't anywhere nearly as militant as the US and Russia, but hopefully, they've learned the international consequences and the military difficulties of trying to forcefully annex part of a country that doesn't recognize its sovereignty. There's not much the CCP could do to turn around the situation on the ground in Ukraine, but it's in the world's interest that the government and economy of Russia don't collapse. That would create more instability. The global economic and geopolitical systems could split between East and West, but the CCP loves being rich. They are probably working to profit from Russia's blunder and economic crisis without affecting their access to markets in America and Europe.

I have no doubt that Ukrainian diplomats and Zelenskyy himself would rather interact directly with the Kremlin instead with an eccentric billionaire and a Russian useful idiot who has the attention span of a gnat.
