  2. All we'll be doing is just staging them for the next military conflict. The lost of innocent civilians and our armed forces is tragic, but the US has business interests around the globe. We didn't get a superpower status from being isolationist.

  6.  @markg.7865  That's a good point. I think a Marshall Plan-sytle rebuilding would have helped stabilized the Middle East, but DC politics doesn't work well with long-term strategies like what we had to counter the Soviet Union and communism.

  11.  @fsaari  It doesn't matter if it would've made a difference. The Soviet threat and proxy wars were sold to the American people, and politicians actually got the public to believe that communism endangered American lives rather than business interest.

  27. How are they haters if they want him to do literally anything to help Americans during the lame duck of his presidency? Covid-19 made him a one-term president. He shouldn't use his denialism to hurt people needing aid. If he refuses to do it now as retaliation for the election, the next administration will do it regardless and blame his lack of action for the economic situation.
