  1. It's great to hear a video describing the economic and geopolitical incentives of the US relationship between America and its transatlantic partners. A lot of times, NATO and other mutual-security alliances are incorrectly explained as if it's a philanthropic organization or the US providing foreign aid to other richer countries too cheap to pay their defense bill. The current conflict has given NATO the opportunity to be relevant. There are complaints about US hegemony and imperialism in Europe, but although the alliance is far from perfect, the de facto US leadership is what makes the US president considered the "leader of the free world."

  2. I get the remark about the Challenger and Columbia explosion, but the shuttle program continued and was eventually retired. Calling the NASA shuttle program "a failure" because space travel wasn't routine or economical is like calling the Saturn V rocket and Apollo a failures, too. We haven't been back to the moon on that technology either.

  4. Sounds like an interesting video, but you lost me at sausage fans in the streets of Moscow. What was that about? I thought Russians didn't tolerate that in public?

  5. It might be mostly fantasy, but Moscow can always do the unthinkable by calling the White House to join NATO, or become nonaligned, like India. If Putin abandoned Beijing, the sanctions would magically disappear, and he could have a stronger negotiating position in redrawing the Russo-Ukrainian border.

Putin could save face and remain in power by either 1) declaring victory, removing all troops from Ukraine, and then claim the Special Military Operation to de-Nazify Ukraine was an astounding success; or 2) humbling contacting the White House to negotiate an exist ramp to facilitate Russia's dignified withdrawal from Eastern Ukraine and Crimea.
