  3. I love the animals and was fortunate as a child to see the "happy side" of zoos, but I don't see the benefit of keeping mammals in captivity. The intentions may have been noble, and it's an great opportunity to raise funds, it's more ethical to keep the in wild. If they're able to preserve DNA of highly endangered species, they would be an option. Keeping animals in unnatural habitats in cages does a lot more harm and is inhumane.

  4. That's a overly simplified view of US foreign policy in the Middle East. You overlooked the fact that Iran and Saudi Arabia are in a Cold War-type of regional competition. It's not just Israel that determines US business and foreign interest in the region.

That plane was shot down by the Iranian Armed Forces. 737 is still safer than Airbus A320 and has been in service since 1970. For the entire A320 family, 160 aviation accidents and incidents have occurred (the latest accident with fatalities being Pakistan International Airlines Flight 8303 on 22 May 2020),[1] including 37 hull loss accidents,[2] and a total of 1505 fatalities in 17 fatal accidents.[3]

  6. Putting politics and the economic environment aside, Scotland is a beautiful country. I would love to visit again. My input isn't relevant, but it's kind of sad seeing England and Scotland discuss breaking the union. They should be each other's biggest trading partners, so an Edinburexit would harm both countries.

It's always been well known that nearly every British and US-ally in the Middle East and Persia were financed and armed to support the US policy of containing communism. The coup that removed the democratically elected Mossadegh and stopped the nationalization of BP (Anglo-Persian Oil Company) assets has been declassified. The Shah was placed back in power and stopped the seizure of British-owned oil refiners, so obviously the US and European countries have interfered and attempted to secure the oil reserves in the country and install an American friendly dictator.

  19.  @Hasan-we7qp  That wasn't a what-if scenario or revision of history. It's the future change in the region that will be dominated by the US and China. You should be more focused on how to navigate a Beijing-controlled South China Sea and remain non-aligned and independent instead of US-Persian relations from the Cold War. Enforcing "Freedom of Navigation patrols" with the US Navy and protecting Australia, the Philippines, New Zealand, South Korea, Japan, and Taiwan are the most important regional and business interest of the US and the West. That and selling US goods, financial products, and services to new markets. Under a hypothetical US puppet regime with democratic principles, Indonesia would probably be similar to the other liberal democracies in the Indo-Pacific that have close ties to the US and American military bases for protection. Indonesia might seem like the center of the world to you, but in case you haven't noticed, the US still has a global hegemony and is more focused on China, Iran, North Korea, and Russia and domestic issues rather than interfering in Indonesian politics. That could change if there's a major reservoir of oil, natural gas, and precious minerals for semiconductors discovered in Indonesia. Getting India as an economic partner and military ally against the CCP is a higher priority for the West.
