Agree with Patrick's point that commission free isn't free and the biggest thing that still messes with me is I found myself trading more frequently now on M1 Finance than I would when I had to pay $5.99 per trade with Scottrade. Knowing there's no fee leads to more trades which leads to short term volatility, much like how free shipping on Amazon leads people to buy more than if they had to pay for shipping per order.
