Sadly people lock in on certain aspects of investing that they think will give repeated gains. For example, people trading stocks based on dividend payout dates, bankrupt stocks will go up like Hertz or Jcpenney. Now I'm afraid people will buy into stocks that announce stock splits like Apple and Tesla rocketing up after announcing their stock splits. If they aren't careful, they'll lose their shirt because they don't research why a company is worth investing in and just follow market trends.
