If somehow HMAS Australia (the modified Indefatigable) had survived until World War II and ended up as Crutchley's flagship for the Guadalcanal landings (replacing the historical County-class of the same name), and we assume that somehow the war goes the same as it did historically up until that point, then - assuming that in this scenario Crutchley would rather transfer to a cruiser to get to his meeting instead of pulling a whole battlecruiser out of the line - how differently would 1st Savo Island play out?

@erichammer2751 True, but if it survived until WWII, it'd've been refitted at least a couple of times in the interwar period, at least one of which would've considerably improved its torpedo protection.
