Declining to enforce individual unwise or poorly-thought-out laws, as Biden may be doing, is a common and legitimate power of the executive branch (it's how, for instance, you can buy pot in Oregon or ship vibrators across state lines despite there being federal laws on the books prohibiting the possession or sale of marijuana and the interstate shipment of "obscene" materials); one of the most important parts of having the power to do something is knowing when not to use it. (Alternatively, given that he has just two days left in office, it might well simply be a matter of him not having enough time remaining for any proceedings to take place before he leaves the White House.) Trump, in contrast, has actually, personally, directly broken the law on multiple occasions and in multiple ways, has attempted to punish people for doing things that aren't illegal, has attempted to (and came very close to succeeding at, and, in the very near future, might very well actually succeed at) overthrow the U.S. federal government and legal system itself...

  2. 1. If you're worried about China collecting data about USians via TikTok, why not just warn the users about this (and require TikTok to disclose to users that it collects data)? Outright banning it is an extreme, extreme overreaction. 2. What's all this about foreigners not getting free-speech rights? The First Amendment says, in part, "Congress shall make no law [...] abridging the freedom of speech...". Nowhere does it say anything about foreigners in the U.S. being excluded from the rights it guarantees. 3. When has the U.S. government ever succeeded at preventing tech users from accessing a major site or platform? 4. 6:13 We should really have a rule banning the government from relying on classified information in court. People challenging the government aren't allowed to use classified information as evidence; why should the government be allowed to?
