  1. I am not ready to leave because I have an elderly mother and sister to help. Both have health issues. I live about 2 hours away from them. I've lived in Marbella, Spain and a suburb of Osaka, Japan. Both were far safer than any place I've lived in the US...maybe except for Lake Tahoe. Tahoe has changed unfortunately, and now experiences crime. My family in Sacramento live in an area that has seen an uptick in break-ins, home invasion, homelessness and gun-related violence. Traffic is terrible. Housing is unreasonably expensive. If it were not for my responsibilities, I'd likely be in Eastern Europe! I'm in Reno, and while it offers more than Sacramento, the cost of living, crime, and homelessness are all rising...literally no bang for your buck unless you are a remote worker from Silicon Valley, or in high tech like Blockchain. I'll keep watching for inspiration...thank you!
