I worked in W. Seattle for two months. Looking back, I was treated like an outsider at work. Friends thought I was set up to fail. I did find friendly people in Kitsap County where I was living. I moved back to the Reno/Tahoe area and have been researching Clark County. I hope the area is as friendly as I've heard. The mist was wonderful. I love rain, snow and clouds...not crazy about hot, sunny, dry weather. GoreTex jackets and shoes make outdoor living pleasant in Seattle. Reno is great in the winter, but feels like the foyer of hell from May through October. The wildfires curtail outdoor activities for up to a month each summer. Have you done any videos on Clark County and SW Washington?

I used to live in Truckee, Donner Lake, and Tahoe over several decades. Sadly, Truckee has become crowded and expensive. I used to work with the Family Resource Centers in Truckee and Kings Beach. Finding housing for residents was next to impossible, and most was unaffordable for all but the wealthy. Truckee is still beautiful but gentrification has changed the mountain vibe (most residents have a full set of teeth...lol!).

@Acrosstheglobechannel I left CA. Too crowded, too expensive to live in a decent place, and too much traffic, crime and homelessness (not necessarily the faults of the people but a system that isn't functioning the way it should).

Have to tell you, it's pronounced with the first "a" like hat, not ahh. Reno has a thriving tech economy, especially since Tesla arrived. Tahoe (great outdoor activities) is within about 45-60 minutes. There are several smaller cities South of Reno that are growing. I don't know much about Southern Nevada...no desire to go to Las Vegas. Reno, Carson City, Minden/Gardnerville and Incline Village all have a lot to offer. Unfortunately, popularity comes at a price.

Interesting but all these places, except Utah and Maine in the winter are too darn hot! I'll take my chances on NW Washington.

@Acrosstheglobechannel it's not bad, but it's growing too fast. A large hotel/casino is going up across from the convention center, from what I've heard. The people here are really nice, and there's a lot of outdoor activities. I miss living in Tahoe but Reno has amenities that Tahoe lacks, and the traffic is lighter

@bilahn1198 lol....come to Tahoe. Snow caves for rent are reasonably priced, if you're not worried about a possible roofalanche. BYO Snowblower....it definitely snows here in May and June...non-drought years, that is 😄

@D.Blazed if you know how to dress, you'll never be cold. I used to walk my dog in the single digits in the winters of Truckee and Tahoe. Her paws would get cold so I was her paw heater...but I was totally comfortable.

@gregpowell4930 I want very much to move back to Western Washington. Love the weather! I was in Kitsap County. Looking at Port Angeles or Vancouver. Just love Gig Harbor, Port Townsend, and Bellingham! Arizona I can live without...sorry!

@hikerhobby1204 lol, I was referring to Vancouver, Washington (near Portland)....but Victoria and Vancouver Island are indeed heavenly! I'd move there straight away if I could!

A good friend is living in Nome...I am so jealous bc Reno is going to be hotter than a furnace by July! He moved to Alaska from Houston...what a contrast!

@marknewton6984 and I love endless winter...except for this winter! I'm grateful I'm not in Tahoe. My former roommate and friends have been digging out practically every day...2017 did me in when I couldn't get out of the driveway for three days, and a client's neighbor got an avalanche through their house at Alpine Meadows! So I'm rethinking the endless winter to winter-spring-fall...you are welcome to my summer; I don't want it!

@whoiswithme hahaha! Several years ago, I was stuck on the 5 in Portland and really had to pee (TMI, I know). To distract myself, I cranked up some classic rock, singing and "dancing" as I inched toward Washington. I wonder now how many people I annoyed?!

@Cresta-fm8uj maybe not for you, but I've been a total wreck for at least a month. The heat just sucks the life out of me. I set my office thermostat at 59° just to feel human. I can't wait for it to start snowing.

@Acrosstheglobechannel my happy place is 20-55° f. I love winter sports. Antarctica is on my bucket list. I'd totally do winters in Utah, if I could spend summer and fall in Western Washington.

I'm currently in Reno. Great weather from mid-October (once it cools down) to April. Then it's tooo hot! I love Pacific Northwest climate...looking to move back.

@mousemd high desert can get pretty hot and windy. Mostly dry though. I like cool cloudy summers and snowy winters with a lot of fall color and mild spring...Reno, at least gets some snow!

@silvermainecoons3269 I considered Nevada City once but it was just too hot in the summer. Great town though. The drive can get a bit gnarly at times, but it's really beautiful.

@bradygallagher1272 my friend and I went hiking near Prosser last weekend, and to Wild Cherries on DPR afterwards. Truckee is so built up now! I hardly recognize it. Marilyn's Catwalk is still there, near the intersection with Brockway. Nice to see a long-time local still in business.

More cold, but mild cold like winter in Tahoe vs Boston...lived in both and Boston was way colder. My favorite weather is in the Pacific Northwest on the Sound or the Coast...the summers are hot, however...but I skied in June at Mt. Hood!
