But is he a Republican?
3
@NDNTYMisL8 The innocent children in Gaza ALSO have a right to life, but how many Christians are protesting the sending of billions of dollars of weaponry to Israel, for instance?
3
@GilBrown333 Strange, but that is EXACTLY how we perceive Donald Trump
2
But why dont you protest the fact that BOTH parties are quite happy to send billions of dollars of arms to kill innocent civilians - without a whisper of dissent from self righteous Christians? That’s murder, too, and the church has concurred with it for two thousand years. Are women an easier target than arms dealers? Or if your own future is threatened, you permit yourself to sanction murder?
1
@TardigradeTough but it’s okay for a power hungry politician to sell Bibles with his name on it to fund his power seeking?
1
@warrior9694 But I wonder how many churchgoers who protest abortion have protested the 40,000 civilians (many innocent children, even babies) murdered in Gaza? Or who stand up and fight as hard to prevent war? Hmm? Funny the double standards Christians seem to have.
1
What about all those Holier Than Thou Christians, who protest abortion, but never protest the sending of millions of dollars of weapons to kill innocent civilians in other countries. Is the argument, ‘Thou shalt not murder’ not applicable when OUR lives are threatened, but applicable when a woman’s life is threatened?
1
@georgehughes8535 Yet I don’t hear any Christians opposing the idea of spending billions of dollars to send weapons to kill innocent civilians. Presumably, when it is OUR self interest at stake, we can forget about ‘thou shalt not murder,’ but when it is a woman’s health or mental health at risk, that’s different?
1
@georgehughes8535 Perhaps you have missed the war in Gaza? 40,000 dead so far, many women, children and even babies.
1
Perhaps remember that being ‘God-ordained didn’t stop all the abuse of children by Catholic priests.
1
So is the bombing of innocent children in Gaza with weapons supplied by your country. Why are you Christians not even more angry about that? Tens of thousands dead.
1
If abortion is murder, why the heck are all you people not protesting the tens of thousands of people killed by the millions of dollars of weapons supplied by your country to bomb them? ‘I say to you, love your enemy,’ ‘turn the other cheek,’ ‘thou shalt not murder.’ No Christian should be silent on the issue - but perhaps women are an easier target than powerful politicians or arms dealers.
1
@maryjogreen1706 so is the murder of tens of thousands of innocent civilians murdered by weaponry supplied by our governments. How come no Christians protest THAT.
1
@esercye I’m a Christian and I agree with you. If the Government ordered every man who has fathered a child, and walked away, to be castrated, imagine the outcry….Women are easy targets.
1
@vickiulrich6694 Strangely, though, the West has lived for centuries with the notion of the Just War, which excuses us from following Biblical commands ‘Thou shalt not kill’, ‘I tell you love your enemy, turn the other cheek’, without turning a hair. Funny how we can accept a modification of Scripture when it suits us
1
@mattm3901 I’m a priest. Of course I know that commandment, but I am trying to get you to think about why Christians are focussing so much on abortion but apparently don’t turn a hair about sending arms to bomb civilians, or to invade other countries. Where is the outcry over that? The churches are silent. If you cite St Augustine and his ‘just war’ theory, then I would say you are twisting the words of the Bible in order to protect yourself. If the church ‘allows’ war, it has sone interesting double standards. Or is it just easier to target women than it is to target arms dealers and war mongering (Christian) politicians?
1
@scorchedsummer Trouble is that that is exactly what we Democrat supporters feel WE are seeing…
1
@larryenglish4013 Can’t say I see it in Trump’s racism or aggression either.
