As an Anglican priest, I love her warmth, intelligence and compassion. Lots of us do.
4
It is our PASTORAL calling to protect the most vulnerable in society, by words or actions. I applaud her for her courage, and for the gentle way she expressed it. An Anglican priest.
4
So Jesus would not want her to speak about protecting those who are vulnerable in society? Isn’t that a vital part of his call to Christians? An Anglican priest.
4
@DetVen Satan worshipper? Goodness. Still, if labelling others as Satan worshippers makes you feel better…
3
@DetVen And remineralise that even Jesus was accused of being satanic by the Pharisees
3
@bellaontau4585 As SOME of you were. Wonderful, direct, gentle, sermon, calling for compassion and empathy. Regards, an Anglican priest.
3
I quote: He said: “She had the other interview with the other guy who was a nice guy I think from Philadelphia, from Pennsylvania. He was a nice guy, he was asking her all these (scrambles words) – the daily take – they don’t take like I do! Anybody wants to go, go what the hell difference does it make – they have – and how dishonest was ABC.” I’m not sure even pets could understand him…

There will be no mercy for those who have not shown mercy to others. But if you have been merciful, God will be merciful when he judges you. James 2.13.
3
@juliagooliagiulia723 ’Nothing Biblical’? Do you know your Bible? ‘Love your neighbour as yourself’ ring any bells? ‘Welcoming the stranger’? That’s part of the Bible, too, and central to Jesus message. She spoke gently, and rightly. An Anglican priest.
3
@johnbrowne2170 and how exactly is calling for the nation to protect the weakest in society, ‘out of the will of God’? An Anglican priest.
3
@miraborgesilva1919 i agree. It was perfectly said, it was gently done. Loving the weakest in society is part of our PASTORAL calling. An Anglican priest.
3
There will be no mercy for those who have not shown mercy to others. But if you have been merciful, God will be merciful when he judges you. James 2.13. The gay preachers are often the very best. An Anglican priest.
3
She spoke gently. It is part of our pastoral calling, as priests, to protect the weakest in society, and to call it out when it does not happen. Wonderful, brave, woman. An Anglican priest.
3
@daved7808 might be worth remembering that the Pharisees accused Jesus of being Satanic too…
2
@zuzanazuscinova5209 No, for those who struggle to get through life. I honour that.
2
@Joshpox Thank you for that answer. Spot on. An Anglican priest.
2
@genotriana3882 What happened to ‘Love your neighbour as yourself’? Trump wooed voters with his appeal to religion. Time for him to respect its teachings of care for the people on the edge of society (whatever their labels)
2
Trump is far more articulate. I quote: He said: “She had the other interview with the other guy who was a nice guy I think from Philadelphia, from Pennsylvania. He was a nice guy, he was asking her all these (scrambles words) – the daily take – they don’t take like I do! Anybody wants to go, go what the hell difference does it make – they have – and how dishonest was ABC.”
2
But at the core of the Christian message is the call to protect the weakest in society, and to love our neighbour as ourselves. She spoke gently, and rightly. A wonderful, courageous, Christian woman. Regards, an Anglican priest.
2
@SebastianKalliala Poor little Trump. He can dish out but he can’t cope when the tables are turned. Hurrah for her courage
2
Kamala is intellectually lazy and hard to understand? I quote: ‘He said: “She had the other interview with the other guy who was a nice guy I think from Philadelphia, from Pennsylvania. He was a nice guy, he was asking her all these (scrambles words) – the daily take – they don’t take like I do! Anybody wants to go, go what the hell difference does it make – they have – and how dishonest was ABC.”
2
@karynkinney54 Perhaps you have forgotten the Biblical principle of ‘loving your neighbour as yourself.’ I take my hat off to her for being so courageous. Caring for the weakest in society is at the core of the Christian message. An Anglican priest.
2
@ Being ‘woke’ is about having compassion, which is at the core of Christs message. An Anglican priest.
2
@ Likewise ‘fake news’ and ‘fake media’ seem to be about those things Trump and his followers don’t want to hear about. Carl Jung: ‘When you start judging, you stop listening.’
2
@ I didn’t realise that protecting the vulnerable (whatever their label) was ‘against God’s word.’ What an interesting perspective…
2
A con artist? Which of the two has abuse convictions and is under suspicion of fraud?
2
Trump so much more articulate.
2
There will be no mercy for those who have not shown mercy to others. But if you have been merciful, God will be merciful when he judges you. James 2.13. The core of Jesus message was about loving your neighbour as yourself. It was brave and deeply pastoral. Thousands of us are thrilled by her courage. An Anglican priest.
2
@wandertree Ah, but we do a wonderful job :). ‘Fake’ is a useful Trumpian word which we use to avoid listening to anything which might unsettle us. Regards, a real Anglican priest…
2
@ perfect comment.
2
@jsteel3095 yup, most days. I’m an Anglican priest
1
@jsteel3095 yup, most days
1
@DetVen A ‘self described Anglican priest’? Google my name, sunshine, google my name 😁
1
@daved7808 Jesus was also accused of being in league with Satan, so I am in good company. Just check it out in the Bible
1
And this one? I quote: He said: “She had the other interview with the other guy who was a nice guy I think from Philadelphia, from Pennsylvania. He was a nice guy, he was asking her all these (scrambles words) – the daily take – they don’t take like I do! Anybody wants to go, go what the hell difference does it make – they have – and how dishonest was ABC.”
1
Wonderful woman. Highly intelligent, warm, compassionate and articulate.
1
Oh, right. If Trump wins its fair and square, if Harris wins it’s been rigged. Can’t believe this kind of double standard
1
@lvgvinson7163 Might be worth checking the award winning website, Politfacts to see whether fact checking backs up your comment
1
Oh dear. This is completely speculative - unless, perhaps, you have been privy to their personal conversations. I despair…
1
‘Nothing words.’ Trump: He said: “She had the other interview with the other guy who was a nice guy I think from Philadelphia, from Pennsylvania. He was a nice guy, he was asking her all these (scrambles words) – the daily take – they don’t take like I do! Anybody wants to go, go what the hell difference does it make – they have – and how dishonest was ABC.”
1
She has integrity, intelligence, warmth and looks. No wonder she is hated. Amazing woman.
1
Strangely, I’m a Brit too, an Anglican priest, and I pray he doesn’t - as I did last time.
1
And yet she was almost universally seen as having beaten Trump in their debate…
1
He’s a much better debater than Trump
1
She’s a chameleon? Have you tried tracking Trump’s various positions on abortion recently?
1
@vq6274 This is the kind of ‘intellectual’ you endorse? I quote: He said: “She had the other interview with the other guy who was a nice guy I think from Philadelphia, from Pennsylvania. He was a nice guy, he was asking her all these (scrambles words) – the daily take – they don’t take like I do! Anybody wants to go, go what the hell difference does it make – they have – and how dishonest was ABC.”
1
Strange, isn’t it, the way that at least half the country feels the same about Trump?
1
@wolfhound1452 So was Jesus.
1
If he loses, it’s ‘rigged,’ so if he wins this time, will it also be ‘rigged’?
1
It’s funny the way every time Trump loses something, everyone around is labelled as ‘corrupt.’
