"Socialists" are most often just social democrats. You'd have a point if you were referring to communists.
17
Why would Europe collapse? Most of our interests are common.
17
That's because a certain right wing left very bad memories in Europe not so long ago.
12
@stielimusterman3066 The right is almost always conservative... that is basically the opposite of anti-establishment.
11
She's what then?
8
Many times they are wrong... like genocide for instance.
6
For a while then things won't improve much and then it switches to the left again. Many decades of alternating power.
6
How is the role of the government to promote "traditional family and traditional qualities"? Do you want a morality police or something?
6
@advancedomega That's a very basic characterization... the overwhelming majority of people don't give a crap about those. And needless to say where nationalism/populism took us less than a century ago...
5
Yet the world is not becoming that much of a better place.
5
Lack of memory.
5
@advancedomega Being left leaning and being elitist are basically opposite concepts.
4
Typically for people with a lot of money.
4
What would be the advantage of that? Europeans are on the whole quite Centrist of the Social Democrat variety.
3
@Mob135 I was referring to Fascism, not so much Capitalism, since the OP stated that the "right is always right". In simple terms neither the right or the left advocate for genocide, evil people do regardless of their political orientation.
3
Younger people tend to vote more for the left... always was that way.
2
Rain probably.
2
How is Europe wrecked, uh?
2
@stielimusterman3066 Is the European population that heterogeneous? I mean, our cultures have more in common than not. We all share roughly the same values, political systems, justice systems, ways of life. As for young people refusing to work that's on them... the unemployment rate in the EU is quite low at the moment.
2
Europe is mostly Social Democrat as it ever was. Market economy with a strong social component, that's what the overwhelming majority of Europeans want.
2
How is ending the EU leading to more prosperity, uh?? Imposing borders and customs again? No Schengen anymore?
2
Like what?
2
@captainvanisher988 Most people don't give a crap about "globalism", they want good standards of living that's all. They will vote for the side that will give them that, left or right.
1
@MC_heart4 Labels can be problematic.
1
Do you think the right has a magic wand that will make bureocracy disappear or something? Bureaucracy has no right or left.
1
I bet most of said parties will join the right side of the EU parliament.
1
Canada is being destroyed? Still a country with great standards of living, I could never tell.
1
There are barely any Communists in positions of power in Europe.
1
@SP95 He wants what?
1
@SP95 Alright, if you say so. 😄
1
@SP95 Furious socialism? You don't live in 70's Poland, no?
1
Seek purpose?
1
There are barely any Communist leaders in power in Europe.
1
We're quite far from that no?
1
@adamnesico Money is money, once you reach a certain position of power you'll be susceptible of being corrupted, it doesn't matter if you are right or left.
1
@adamnesico Lies and corruption come from all sides, just don't paint the right as unpolluted people.
1
You can just make amends to the immigration and asylum policies and keep being left leaning... no need to go to the right.
1
@historiamilitaris5161 Those are more leftist values though. What next, the right loves unions and labour rights?
1
@jakubblaha4904 Far right not at all in my experience... younger people are far more tolerant on average, something for which I gladly contribute to in my capacity.
1
The left is bigot? Against whom?
1
@rizkyadiyanto7922 That's what exactly? Aside from the buzzword...
1
Or we could tweak the immigration laws without moving to the right... that would be smarter.
