  1. Not all... you can have fires ignited by lightning. Either way, all fires are made much easier to propagate is the land is excessively dry with low humidity.

  2. ​ @mehere8038  Around here (southern Europe) they are mostly made of concrete. I just mentioned the material used, not that it was better or worse regarding fires. I know the fires were triggered by sparks on dry vegetation and that can happen with whatever kind of pole you use.

  3.  @mehere8038  In Hawaii wood is the material of choice for most things and especially houses. One of the reasons the town burned to the ground so easily, old wooden houses, easily flammable.
