@blackcat-mp7kh Yes, I also thought him claiming the majority of people cling to the default apps a bit exaggerated. Even if your phone doesn't come with say, whatsapp pre-installed, you'll get it in 3 times because it's where everybody else is. Either that or Americans are a special brand of lazy.

@amanraj9053 Every American YouTuber has the analytics to explore but that doesn't mean they care much for it. Truth is Marques is particularly good in his awareness that he's talking to a worldwide audience. All praise regarding that is well deserved.

@SaladTosser9k I was only referring to Marques claim that Americans are not keen to change the default apps on their phones. If 75% of that age bracket has an iPhone of course they won't, it's where their friends are... in Europe and other places many Apple users are keener to use whatsapp (or something else) meaning that you only cling to default apps as long as most people you know are there. And I know of people who have 3/4 different chat apps to cater to everyone they know. It's more a geographical thing than a platform one.

Yes, I think this ends up being more of a regional issue than a platform one. In Europe and elsewhere, even most iPhone users use whatsapp, it's everywhere.

@Soto-Tech2020 I'm an Android user but from my experience most non-American iPhone users are more keen to jump into (mostly) whatsapp than its American counterparts which remain closed in their ecosystem. As Android has a much more dominating presence outside of the US, Apple users have no choice but to be followers.

@tomgonk I use Discord as well but for many people it has way more features than they need. whatsapp is more straightforward for a simple chat.

@ignas358 Basically we use what most our contacts use even if that forces us to use different apps. Whatsapp is so ubiquitous in my social circle that it becomes a no-brainer. Then again, and like Marques said, would we want the same app/company to dominate all our chats? Probably not. I also use Discord for some of my international contacts but I found that for most people it has more features than they really have use for. Apologies if I sounded a bit rude in my first post.

@CallMeVidd Oh absolutely, this happens so much that it's laughable sometimes.

@jphzazueta Yes, it's more a geography question than a platform one like I said in my comment above yours.
