@TheJaguarthChannel Yeah, but could it be that many people have absolutely no interest in those subjects? We're all different... take languages for instance, how many do you speak? I speak 4.

You learn a lot of stuff that you discard afterwards to make room for stuff you really care the most. Not everybody is interested in astronomy.

@jasonnelson9141 And yet... But it's not a problem related to astronomy only, there are similar videos on history and geography cluelessness for instance.

There are plenty of fail videos like this one but for basic geography.

A lot of people have no interest whatsoever in astronomy and despite learning basic stuff at school they end up ditching it to make room for subjects they are really interested into. Happens to all of us.

Easy, not everybody is interested in astronomy and we all have different interests. You probably also have close to no knowledge on some topics others find fascinating. That's the beauty of society, we all like and care for different things.

@livolas Perhaps yes, but the comment I replied to was super pretentious and snobbish so I might have exaggerated as well. And reading some of the replies above I was not the only one thinking that way.

People fail the most basic geography/history facts, nevermind the size of celestial bodies.

@KaterKarloMawMaw I would assume people knowing Europe and Africa are not countries would also be obvious and yet I've seen similar cringe videos. I know they are curated to show the worst answers, like this one was as well, but still...
