  1. Yes, there are currently low fertility rates in many EU countries, but "about to have their populations halved in size" is pushing it.

  2.  @HassanalBolkiahSoyjak  Yes, except the current average birthrate in the EU is 1.5, not 1.0. And then there's immigration as well. With the current trends no country will lose nowhere near half their population by 2100. The worst cases are "only" around 20%. Not denying low fertility cases can be a problem but better be a bit more precise.

  7.  J Silva  Japan is predicted to lose 27 million people by 2050. Low fertility and immigration rates. It's probably the worst country in the world in that regard. As a result it has a very ageing population.

  11. The US has few to no relevance on EU's internal policies... some of them are quite different from across the pond. Now, the EU and the US share a lot of common values that's for sure.

  21. Not, the future it's not China 2.0, that's rubbish. EU countries adhere to a completely different set of civil rights. The EU parliament is a democratically elected chamber, at least I elected my representatives.

  32.  @HungaryBased  Being that the alternative is nationalism I'm definitely an internationalist, or globalist, or whatever you wanna call it. Countries have been forming organizations between them since forever. Greece? They cheated their way into the Euro so that's on them. They should have stayed out.
