  1. You might do well with oil-filled radiator heaters. That's what I use in the bathroom. My Central Heating crapped out and I never bothered to get it fixed. It was horribly inefficient. The house is very old and the insulation is not good. So these concepts from your video are very familiar. I have two new window heatpumps, and I use gas wall heaters and electric space heaters. - Lessons in architecture, With Central Plumbing instead of Central Heating, you only need spot heating. It looks like you centralize livingspaces and allow outward rooms to contribute to the insulating value of the exterior walls, and you can close off rooms with high ceilings.

  2. A candle puts out about 100 btu if you light it, but only in Britain. Oil lamps put out about 1,000. These are also great ways to burn down that old house! I like some of these ideas in here, like the heated table with a blanket over it. Now I know why everybody has their legs under the table cloth so diligently! Hot water bed warmer is a good idea too. Electric blankets all have that wire.
