I remember those 7 bombers over Red Square that kept circling to look like a whole fleet.
7
This is great. I've always said, the ladies are out there, we just gotta find them...
4
Interesting that Boeing managed to rest oversight from Northrop on the B21.
4
If they can protect K'yiv, that will be a huge morale boost. They need triple 'ot buckshot too. ππ€
4
Well, you know arrogance is a defense. π€ͺ
3
Didn't we have one of these in 1947? Somehow I think Edwards Air Force Base is going to come into play in the sequel. π
3
π So this is what Santa's hiding under the North Pole! π π€Άπ§βπ I wanna see an anti-sub capability. We'll need to take out a lot of them if we go peer to peer.
3
NnoooooOOOo! π± Honestly, really, I kind of figured the Mig pilots were some arab dudes of some sort. Unless they were "advisors" maybe, because we weren't really doing much with the Soviets, and we had just had altercations over the Mediterranean.
3
"Stealth" as a concept has been around since the first conflicts in history. The current technologies will be defeated and supplanted by something else. Just like the F-117, these current generation technologies are already challenged. There will always be something better.
3
We've been working on Hypersonics for decades longer than China, or Russia. If we think it's worth having one, all we need is to make a few calls.
2
I liked the other one, but now it looks too russian...
2
A spinning buzz bomb engine ππ
2
Not the Navy, but our politicians are.
2
Little Trouble in Big China - I'm pretty sure those air samplers in there have radioisotopes in them that they use for various measuring functions. You wouldn't want civilians playing with anything from that gondola. Still, I'd be more worried about Congress enacting year 'round daylight saving time for the third time - It doesn't work, and it kills children waiting for the bus! Nevermind the damn softball games!
2
Space Ghost! π»
2
Anything to use them up, eh...? I really don't see why they don't upgrade the design like they have for other planes. This was not designed for an air superiority environment if it was designed to go up against the Soviets.
2
They're Boutique π [There's always a Jack Anderson somewhere, mucking things up. I remember how much he was against the M1 Abrams too.] How about an extended range stealth fighter with standoff missile capabilities? Like an interceptor, but capable of launching cruise missiles also.
2
They need one of these each in Kharkiv, Kherson, and Odessa, in addition to protecting K'yiv.
2
They need fast movers. Gau 8 is more for top attack. WWII planes did manage to destroy some tanks when attacking the top armor - ask the Germans. Low angle attack is exactly the wrong way to do it.
2
How about ground to ship missiles??? ππ€ π
2
It sounds like they used the real alien technology: Bullshit! ππ€

Told Ya

We COULD build more Raptors, we just won't. It's just like anything else. If we can't make them now, how the hell did we do it in tue first place? Or do you mean, because Congress won't pay for it... that my friend, is the right kind of question. Lol - AI is taking over this argument. F35 and F22 (or 23+, whatever) will merely be stand off controllers until we dominate the airspace.
2
A coat of paint and you're good to go! π

Here comes Lightening III... Doesn't that mean Lockheed has to build it?
2
More Standard Missiles! That's like Taiwan's Javelin. I'd say, take a look at what happened in Ukraine, and what's still NOT happening. Taiwan's going to be on it's own, at least for a good while. Washington is basing everything off of Game Theory being used at our many think tanks. Some Chinese subs outside the South China Sea might meet with mysterious demise before we officially get involved. π I think to make it worth our while, we should take out the CCP as compensation.
2
The biggest threat to Taiwan comes from within. That place crawls with PLA and Commie sympathizers to be sure, and Taiwan is just starting to address their low military personnel reserve problems. The sooner we give them those upgraded F-16s and other new weapons, the better!
2
NASA's other job. π What's happening with that Scramjet?
2
This is shaping up to be a contest like armor vs weaponry. The targeting will adapt to Stealth, Stealth will adapt to targeting, and on it will go until something else replaces the whole concept. Just like the super dreadnoughts, something will render it obsolete. Obviously, these things will still be around, just less relevent.
2
"Stealth Technology will never be obsolete." π
2
My understanding is that the German pilots generally have more experience. Maybe they should try this without tanks on the F-22. π€ You would think they'd want to know. I see that Mustang close in with the F-22... who can turn faster? How about against a Fokker DR-1?
2
Speakin' of traitors... If Erdogan got those F-35s, Russia would have been all over them.
2
A Fokker Dr1 can still outturn a Mustang.πππ Sorry, groupies! Lol
2
Redtails! Yes! Good idea. Space Force is gonna need that camo when we invade Alpha Centuri! Right now, I just don't see it. See It - get it? π₯π₯
2
They probably already knew more than Clancy. Their engineers are just under too much stress living in Siberia! π
2
What's up with the SR-72?
2
How did China get so far so fast? π€ The only thing they were missing was our engine technology. I wonder how far they got with that. Careful moths don't get into your wool tuxedo pants. No lie, you'll go to use it a few years later, and they'll be full of holes.
2
Once you open fire, everyone will know you're there. Lol - I can certainly see a use for anti-radar against AAA.
2
:)
2
AI will be the key. You can't kill the pilot if there's no-one in the plane. We're going to have 5 fighters controlled by one on standoff tactical officer. If there is anyone on board, the enemy won't know it.
1
You have to buy things at the PX? We didn't have to buy shit. Oh, shoe polish kit and hygene? Well, OK...
1
KGB... oops, I mean SVR reads Jane's. I used to get crap at work where I edited manuals because I said I knew two guys who worked on the same aircraft carrier, and one of them was an A6 mechanic, which I was correcting the manuals for. Being paranoid like my boss was just gives you lumps on your face, and he had plenty of them! π
1
They can Mossbergs on some of them.
1
I can't see "Stealth" in it's current form lasting through to the 22nd century. By then, they'll have something better than radar, or the airwaves will be too crowded for it, and they'll have something we can't quite visualize yet. I'm sure the stealth people will come up with some kind of counter though.
1
Well, they'll have to do what they can instead of what they want, and then move on faster to new generations.
1
35 knots?
1
This and the F-16 will likely be fully pilot optional, and the enemy won't know which is which if any of them are piloted. The Air Force presently says they won't be purchasing any new F-16s, but they most certainly are updating the ones they've got. Self piloting systems are becoming very usable. Apache is a good example.
1
Something tells me we've just been keeping it out of the news...
1
Just paint, "Air Florida" on the side. No-one will suspect a thing!
