The names of the countries have switched, but the situation looks very much like the lead up to WWII. We're already having the trench warfare of WWI, so I don't think it will take a lot more to set things off. 😢 The rhetoric doesn't matter. People will do what they want. I hadn't really thought about it that much, but China's naval build up puts them at an area advantage against the U.S. That is what Japan was doing at the beginnings of their aggressions in the Pacific region. To what end should be the question. It certainly is not for defensive purpose alone. That many ships are only necessary for an attack.
