  1. I like the Cajun Style. It's got an excellent recipe on the bag. I add smoked paprika and I use orange juice instead of, or along with the lemon. Sometimes, lime juice too if I want to use it up. I throw in [SPAM] baked luncheon meat as a substitute when I don't have ham. I keep some bacon grease in the freezer so I can use a little of that.

  3. 🇺🇸 Smoked Paprika. (I also buy 25 lb bags of pinto beans.) 🤫😄 It's nice to hear you mention Maseca for a thickener. Some people frown on using it in their recipes. I've found it can make you burn the beans if you're not careful, but they should be done by then anyway, so you don't need the high heat anymore.
