1976! π€―

Yeah, the gist I got was it's better to buy a 5.56mm chambered rifle, but it's surprisingly hard to find one at a good price compared to a .223 Ar-15. That's pretty weird considering the cartridge was made for the AR-15, but that's US. The headspace is supposed to be slightly longer in one of them, and I don't want to look it up right now.π that's where the accuracy issue is from, because the bullets don't seat the same. I think the rifling starts later in the military chamber.

Sleeveless is the New Armor!

Hiram Maxim, Gatling, and Browning, three if our great contributors to world piece(s). π₯Έπ₯Έπ₯Έπ€

Makes me think of our 60mm.
2
I like to buy things from countries that also buy our stuff. We shouldn't need tariffs to equalize commerce. We already have the exchange rate for that. Honesty vs Greed, that's the real conflict.
2
Hmm Gee, High Velocity works!
2
I think it was primarily meant to be a high capacity semi-auto with SHTF full auto capability. I can hardly wait to see you auctioning off the new 6.8mm Automatic Rifle, meaning we've actually had it in action for awhile! Best of Luck with that... π€ͺ
2
20 years from now, soldiers will be fighting to keep this instead of the M6. π€¬π€¬π€¬ Steel cartridge, and steel head cartridges are nothing new. I'm amazed they got all the credit for it! π΅π³
2
Picatinney Bayonet!
2
Works great! Half the shot goes on the left side of the bayonet, and half goes on the right side!
2
Oh MAN, I forgot all about this! π€£π€£π€£ (in all this excitement...) Does it come with a smoking jacket? Someone else actually developed the hybrid case years ago. There just wasn't a market for it at the time, and it was too expensive without mass production. Imagine shooting the military round out of a 24" sniper barrel. Niiiccce!
2
Nice to see the difference between the AR-15 and an actual assault weapon... π€ waaait
2
Someone should remake this under license.
2
I think Merrick Garland might be malnourished. π’ He reminds me of someone with a B12 deficiency, such as a vegetarian. Congress should be repealing unnecessary and cumbersome laws as a matter of course. Instead they play football with them.
2
I love confusing people with this name. π
2
Definitely my favorite. Yeah, it's a little heavy I guess, but that's why you give it to the big guy. π€ Very easy to keep on target. π― What's the problem? I had to show drill Sargent how to load it. I think he must have been faking to see if I could. Little guys blocked our view when it was demonstrated, but it wasn't that complicated.
2
Now we know what real stopping power means. π
2
How about a report on the M3 high volume fire version of the .50 cal.?
2
Why didn't the Army go with .40 S&W at some point? And I mean inventory aside. Everybody knows the Army has an inventory. ππ
2
When you need range, there's no substitute... You need to make the separation between general army and frontline troops. I guess there's somme hangover from WWI, when range was more typically important. .30 is definitely on the big side... 6.5, meh
2
Movie Magic π Maybe the armorers were just having fun switching them around.
2
I liked it. ez recoil
2
π€£π€£π€£ He said, 11 months ago. Lol - strangely, the Army forwent the plastic case.
2
I would bet that worked well with a squad, but you wouldn't want to unload the magazine alone if you could help it. Your first guy goes in one end of the trench, unloads down the trench, then gets out of the way for the next guy. He would then have a little more time to reload, because he would have back-up. With reliability issues like with the paper cartridge, you would want to be in a team anyway.
2
And Slo-Mo!
2
The truth rains down. The Pantera Shooting - officer used one shot to stop the shooter. Perfect example, and courage under fire. You still have to reload a box magazine. I'd rather hold a few extra shells in my hand and use Paul Harrel's reloading method.
2
That's like the standby switch on a tube amp. First thing somebody does is switch it off.
2
What happened to the M3? Aircraft version with about 1,100 rpm, I imagine it jammed a lot.
2
I think Mossberg is making a 590 like this for the military now. Bayonet sold separately.
2
What kind of ammo do they use?
2
I think this would work best with a contingent of marines, along with a few deck guns for larger targets. The Navy probably didn't recognize the intermediate value. I'm sure you would want some trained specialists to operate this, which is also probably why it was not a commercial success. Great idea though, and indeed, that idea is still in use today with the electric Gatling guns.

"Don't do nothin' preverted!" - Dr. Strangelove
2
π€ sorta like an M-14? Maybe it was the 20 lbs. Most of the time with a hand held, you're off target after two rounds, but when you need it, you need it. Let the soldiers decide, "Macnamara..."
2
π¨ A few thousand years from now, they'll be wondering what was wrong with all of us, but they'll be doing the same sort of things to each other.

My GOTO weapons expert. π€ ππ
2
My Favorite. Didn't get to shoot this enough. βΊοΈ
2
Where are these now? Too bad, as a combat medic I would have gotten one of these! π€· Didn't mean to spam. I keep seeing this one. Thanks YouTube
2
Hey Guys, what happened to the M3 version of the .50 Cal? Why don't they hook an AI on that and put on the M1A3 (or whatever it is...)
2
ππ You are the first reviewer to recognize that this cartridge will enable replacing all three weapons. People are still mentally hung on their M240s. I like the (ext) ballistics. I'm not sure yet about the weapon and whether they chose the best one. It really seems like politics and favoritism were heavily involved in the disqualifications, but then, I wasn't there. Hopes are high though! (Maybe they just strung them out for too long. Some of those issues looked pretty obvious from a combat point of view.)
2
You can't destroy the M5!
2
Oh, now I get it. You can replace the barrel extension when it wears out from the extra pressure. Now I'm convinced. Neeto! Very comprehensive review. You're certainly in the know! Great Job.
2
Still smacks harder than an M-60.
2
Bloody Hell Man! That would be unconscionable!
2
Fascinating stuff. I guess the solution was to have 3 guys with single launchers. Lol
1
What if you're ambidextrous, can you still watch these videos?
1
Well, you'll just have to see, "Dr. Strangelove" if you haven't already.
1
Why does this remind me of my old, GM and Mattel made M-16? Lol
1
Young Dudes: Yes it had General Motors stamped right on the receiver, and Mattel's logo was molded into the inside of the front stock - when they made it. I was there... in the Army.
1
It's a gas!

The Original Texas Ranger Hand Cannon
1
Apparently, they've now decided otherwise with the NGSW program. π
1
Definitely! This would have been great in Mutant Chronicles!
1
This was my fave.
1
Yeah, I was gonna say, the 75mm didn't come with an arrestor.
1
I'm still glad we had the M1 and the Ma Deuce.
1
Simplify!
1
They have factories here now. Does that make a difference?
1
It's important that we understand that range in these countries will be involved.
1
Bore Interchangeabilty of 75mm and 76mm rounds kind of puts the lie to those who say the 76mm had inadequate HE rounds. Maybe they were confused with the 57mm?
