@dnik1260 Your Russian history book miss that WW2 Was a world war. Soviet Union made no contribution to the war in African and the Far East-. Soviet Union was on the he GERMAN side when France, Britain, Poland Norway, Belgium, the Netherlands fighted the German army. The allied western powers occupied 2/3 of Germany and supplied Soviet Union with as much war materiel that was lost during 1941.

@dnik1260 Serbia was an UN operation. UN then formed a peacekeeping forces KFOR where also Russia participated. Iraq, Afganistan and Syria was not NATO operations.

@dnik1260 For Your Russian history book WW2 was a regional war between German and Russia. The important battles was the battle of Britain, the battle of the Atlantic (necessary for sending help to SU) and the Battle of Midway where Japan lost four aircraft carriers. SU prevented the Germans to reach the oil wells at Caspian see and Britain prevented them from reaching the oil wells at the Persian Gulf. USA and Britain took the German Ruhr district, which was the important part with its huge industrial capacity.

@dnik1260 Interesting to see that You emphasize the importance of army operations and ockupation of Berlin. The battle of the Atlantic was won during 1942 and German Luftwaffe was eliminated at the landing in Normandie 1944. The Ruhr district was of greater strategic value than Berlin. Oil wells at the Caspian see was in the SU so it must be their duty to defend them. The US helped by sending war materiel and fighted the German army in Italy.
