  3. His assessment of the British in the first world war is naive and school boyish. The British army was a professional army in ww1, especially at the beginning. They were equipped with a better rifle than the Germans and they had Vickers machine guns in every battalion. They were not under equipped and neither was the Kaisers army better equipped, except in some niche areas. The British army was (deliberately) small but very effective. His weak assessment of German panzers and allied tank capability is also weak and incorrect. The US and UK had anti tank guns that had the measure.of late war German panzers. We could knock out Tigers and Panthers (which were not that numerous. Panzer IVs were more.common).
