I just bought a newer car and I left it alone till my warranty ran out. Now I’m sinking tons of money into it to make more power!!

Most super cars appreciate in value. It’s a pretty safe bet that you can own one and drive it for a year or two and sell it for more money.

I wanted a house so badly, but now I’m wondering if that’s not falling into a trap. Renting is cheaper plus maintaining the house and putting new roof on or replacing a furnace. It’s expensive. So I wonder if buying a house is actually the right idea maybe vs just owning some bare land and renting an apt. I rent now and I pay $350 a month. I’m in SE MN. If I wanted to buy a house right now that would wipe out my savings for down payment and then I’d be paying like $1000 a month for a mortgage. Yes I can afford that but do I really want to? I could stay where I’m at and just buy more cars! I already own 4 Cadillacs, let’s make it 8!!

The difference is sprung vs unsprung weight. It makes more of a difference to remove 5 lbs per wheel then it does taking 20lbs a of weight out of the car. Plus the gas savings can pay for the wheels eventually. I did that with my Cadillac deville. I took the heavy stock chrome plated 16 inch wheels off and put some much lighter 17’s on it. My car went from 25-27mpg hwy to 30-34 mpg hwy. I went from get 400 miles out of a tank to 600. So they paid for themselves. I ended up swapping those light wheels for some heavier 18’s and now I’m back down to about 25-27mpg hwy. lighter wheels help with mpg, acceleration, braking and handling. Any unsprung weight you can take off is good!!

Cosmetic stuff doesn’t void your warranty and they can’t void you for that. There are usually certain terms for a warranty and as long as you stay within those boundaries you are free to do as you like to your car.
