As a fellow mining engineer, I completely agree with you. Chaos equations are chaos equations. They don't only apply to the weather (and not the climate), they're mathematics. Furthermore, the history of climate change is not a linear change, shifts have always occurred. There are known unknowns, and unknown unknowns ( to quote Rumsfeld (!))

Peddle fear. Demand conformism

When people get tetchy defending speculation, the suspicion arises that they're not as confident in their conviction as they're making out. Predicting the future has never been set in stone. Chaos equations are chaos equations, irrespective of what they're applied to (weather, or climate)

@swiftlytiltingplanet8481 How would you have prevented the onset of the last ice age ?
1
@swiftlytiltingplanet8481 Are you saying you would have tried to prevent the last ice age by releasing vast amounts of extra carbon dioxide ?
1
@swiftlytiltingplanet8481 But you're inferring that your intervention has the capacity to get the climate to do your bidding

👍 King Canute parodied this human conceit, before physics was "invented"

@nsbd90now Maybe, but chaos equations are still chaos equations

Isn't pollution brilliant ?

@SpiceAndFox There's naturally occurring compounds, and then there's man made compounds
