  29. Fossil fuels are used to mine, process and transport uranium (a finite resource). Many of its disasters remain unresolved. Damming up the estuaries would make more sense, but rarely gets mentioned

  30.  @Spacedog79  Hydropower is cleaner than nuclear will ever be. Not least, it obviates the need for fuel, and nuclear waste is not an issue. Environmental issues are resolvable, and extra benefits could be accrued (eg transport and service links and more reliable upstream navigation). Nuke stations are dangerous, expensive and short lived. The hot uranium isotope is a tiny fraction of the mined ore. But the MIC would agree with you

And you tell me I'm misinformed. My degree is in hard rock mining and I know that what can go wrong will go wrong. There may be a place for nuclear energy, but it's not a panacea, and tapping flowing water is safer and more economic by every metric
