Plants are the greenest way of capturing, and storing the energy from the sun. The by products are too numerous to list

I've asked the same question myself. Additionally, why not use a hydraulic system to translate the power to ground level ?
2
And how come mine is the only thumbs up, and no one has commented to say why that's not a viable point that you've raised ? Vested interests ? Groupthink ?

The Irish weren't too impressed with the radioactive contamination of the Irish Sea, due to Sellafield

My thoughts. And translate the power to a vertical shaft running down the tower
1
It's just occurred to me, the power translation could be done hydraulically

@solarsynapse Extra weight, and mechanical wear at the top of the pillar are significant problems
1
@solarsynapse And you're not going to stop the use of oil, as it is, it's lubricating, and cooling the existing generating equipment. And oil can have all sorts of sources
1
@solarsynapse Your last sentence negates the rest of your post
1
@solarsynapse If it's intentionally designed to fail for profit, then they're not constructing the system in the most efficient way.
1
The implications of that could have no limits
1
@solarsynapse Therefore, it might well make more sense to translate the energy to generating equipment at the base of the structure 👍

@MarkJacksonGaming Oil is the normal choice for hydraulic fluid

@stevefowler2800 I can't believe I'm the only person here who likes your comment. The many potential advantages of tidal power (estuarine) were recognised more than a century ago. Tidal ponds were powering mills long before that. Is it group think, or politics ? I wonder.
