@ultravioletiris6241 To precis: By acting "morally", it is possible to be responsible for more deaths than leaving the situation alone in the first place. Factor in other realities, such as some people are prepared to use children as weapons of war, or to amplify a sense of grievance, or both, and a simplistic analysis becomes sentimentally trite. I don't disagree with you, I just think that there are parameters that you haven't considered, after all, we are encouraged to live in a Logan's Run type cosy, spoonfed sheltered dome these days, but the fact is, life contains some harsh realities too. I think you should read what Malthus has to say. It doesn't mean life isn't sacred, or beautiful, it's just more nuanced than that and contains a paradoxical component and inverse logic can sometimes apply. I might conclude by saying the shroud of narrative control is a hard one to break out of, and there's an intimidating realm of possibilities free from it's grasp (as in Logan's Run). This is probably why religion came about (comfortable certainty),though that doesn't preclude the possibility of a deity(/ies?) , or a judgement day (ones deathbed ?). Well, you did ask ...
