@jounisuninen Read my comment; it addresses extrapolating to the future. The fossil record is different. It has already happened! We can look BACK and determine a lineage that did indeed transition; the whales for example from land to fully aquatic.

First, that's NOT what was stated. Second, you need to engage your brain and understand the difference between stating contemporary events, but NOT stating one as causal to the other! THERE YOU GO.

No way can you conclude that! We don't know if future descendents will become fully aquatic or not, therefore we can't say current species are 'transitioning!
