Never been able to tolerate lactose." - are these statements intended to go together, as a 'therefore'? - I'll comment as though it is; lactose intolerance does have a genetic component, but the presence or absence of Neanderthal DNA in your genome isn't diagnostic of lactose tolerance/intolerance - this can easily be demonstrated by pointing out that both tolerance and intolerance is present in Africans; a group with zero Neanderthal genes!
