But what do we really know of their culture? It works for them. China has progressed extremely fast. Faster than any nation I could think of. And really the agencies complaining are jealous of what the Chinese get away with. None of them are them are honourable enough to cast the first, second or millionth stone. Anyway I would not fit into the Chinese system so I am quite happy to be outside where I can post comments any way I like.

Been saying this for a while. The population is unaware of what is going on and the implications. Its amazing that I work with senior professionals and possibly none of them has ever even heard of this. The watch me like I am crazy when I explain it will all change very soon.

Imagine make enough money off lies to pay lawyers to defend against said lies. It would be an absolute shame if he has enough money to decline that free room and board.

Bad Boy you mean similar to how the west got to their developed state? They went through that phase too some decades ago. The west hardly has the high ground here since the companies in the west that moved there production to China, India and other developing economies are well aware of all those ills but choose to pay the people a pittance. That's why production is cheap there. Why its not done in the west anymore. Suicide nets come to mind. It takes the west demanding better and paying a little more for it to get fixed. China is moving quickly though and there is a good chance it will seriously rival the west in the next two decades.

I feel they may be interested in the kitten bot.

Thats what they said 50 years ago.

David R I could not agree more.

Segway comes to mind. Of course that was a different era so its an order of magnitude less.
3
@cdefgah4343 thanks. You have encouraged me to do some reading on it.
2
Yup Apple has a serious bank account. They can afford to sell cheaper but why bother. The stupid consumers will buy at higher prices. Samsung is doing the same too with their flagship model.
2
I always though NGO's were wasting the money. Surprised to hear its well spent but the logic through the video does make sense.
2
Nice look but its a bit of a short term projection. Hopefully in the future no one will have to work because everything will be done better by machines. Look past UBI when almost everything is free and access is straight forward within reason of course. Simple example. Say you walk into a supermarket and everything is free would you consume excessively? Some will. But if its free everyday and will continue to be free will people over consume? Will they try to stockpile? No they will function as they do now (assuming they are not too poor to buy what they want).
2
@luged yes it will require lots. My comment was meant to look a little further in the future. I think he did well covering the near future but no mention of what is possible a bit further up the road. We will reach there. Scarcity drives economics but a lot of that will go out the window in the future as we become a multi-planet species. Couple decades and our grandchildren will not even relate to work (as we know it now) just as kids today cannot relate to waiting by the radio to catch a song and put it on a cassette.
2
Don't burst their bubble.
2
Agreed it should be interesting. Its interesting how so many seem to be interested in electric vehicles without a grid audit done. Wonder how many nations can actually support a serious movement to electric vehicles and then there is the hidden cost of the generation and grid upgrades.

The consumer is always right. If people feel passionate about this issue then avoid the products peddled by the advertisers that left and send them emails letting them know why. If enough people act they will hurt and change their view. After all money talks.
1
Coming from a third world country my issue with it is the disposal at end of life. Unless it's a substantial system it will just get dumped in the regular trash and we know the nice chemicals that can leach out. Take cell phone batteries for example. Its all dumped in the regular trash here irrespective of the signage on the battery.
1
@OmegaReviews yup but people immortalize him. Even in the early days he robbed Wozniak.
1
Took some time but hopefully more people are getting smarter and not paying for overpriced crap. Won't be as bad as nokia but decline looks inevitable. That's what happens when all eggs were practically in one basket.
1
Well researched but really much of it was obvious. People just don't want to know what goes on behind the scenes. The few that do care are too small in number to matter.
1
So Tesla's bid the the battery game may not go as planned. Guess they may have to try to license the technology.
1
Like the Steve Jobs comment. Maybe he will end up like Edison in the end too. Brilliant but not the genius people make him out to be.
1
@大象大头 that happens in almost all countries. The government may be a more restricted in democracies but they still have a lot of leeway especially under the guise of national security.
1
@大象大头 I think both systems have their advantages and pitfalls. Pure capitalism is devoid of humanity to some extent. If you fall down and have no health care insurance tough for you. Even in US families middle class families can go bankrupt with medical bills. Money talks and nothing else matters. I agree with your opinion that many times the poor does not stand a chance. They think they have the right to vote but realistically is the same shit under a different banner. Idealistic communism has benefits too but realistically human nature does not allow that purity to survive. Corruption at the top and a few elite, like in capitalism, make that system a mess too. I grew up and still live in a democracy and I would not trade it for communism. Of course I cannot understand communism like a person that grew up in that environment. I will not pass absolute judgement though. If the system works for China then that is fine with me. Outsiders have no right to intervene. Anyway I think the major problems in these systems are the people that administer them.
1
@大象大头 I think China's future is bright. China has learnt from the west. They learnt how international lending works and implemented similar in Africa. I agree they are changing but slowly and I think in the right direction for the benefit of all Chinese and much of the world. Interestingly if a fair poll was done today the approval rating of the Chinese government by its people may be greater than many western democracies. Heck even Putin has probably has a higher rating than many western leaders.

And that is why common sense is a good thing. Never believe because of who is involved. It happens a lot these days. People who do not know basic science just trust and fight viciously in comments sections. Just sad. Scams abound ans the world get smaller more suckers can be reached via the internet.
1
But how is that company going to make money on that? That's dam technology. Ancient. This is now all a game of who can present something they control and make some money on it. By the way your suggestion is common sense if you have a mountain to work with. The idea in this video makes more sense when there is no height to get a potential energy storage system.
1
Evolution. Let the best system dominate. Yes I do mean best. Most likely the best AI .....
1
Honest view of Steve Jobs real influence. It's not what the average Joe thinks.
1
John Doe you are right. Electric was never close. In fact the video shows this even with the slant taken by the presenter. I am not doubting the electric vehicle will gain more popularity and possibly even win the majority market share soon but that would probably be due to "incentives" at least in the short term. Basically another way of saying unfair competition.
1
Richard Head oh my you confused your argument. The first part you talked about business without understanding the movement to push out fossil fuel. The incentives. The indoctrination of the masses. Don't be surprised in a few years there will be city centers where fossil fuel cars are not allowed. The second part of your argument is not aligned to the topic at all. Who said anything about what will be producing the electricity to charge the cars? That's a completely different topic.

Some things are best left alone. This is one of them.
1
@cdefgah4343 because I do not need uncle sam monitoring me. Prefer not be tagged. Not into drugs or whistleblowing so so far no one has given me a good reason to go into the dark web. That's just me. Surely it works well for others or it would not exist.
1
@cdefgah4343 maybe I am just paranoid but I am not convinced its really fully anonymous. Downloading a Tor browser that is still supported by the US army seems iffy. Are we really sure that the Tor browser does not raise a flag when its downloaded? Seems like a good place to start monitoring. People who download Tor stand a much higher chance of being persons of interest. Again maybe its just paranoia.
1
This is one of your better videos. Touched on topics people shy away from.
1
I disagree. Low skilled work has the lowest risk. Its low paying work that requires a complex mechanical machine to be physically built to replace them. High paid professionals on the other hand do not require mechanical machinery to replace them. All that is needed is advanced software and all it needs to run on is computers which we have in the billions.
1
Consequence of the stupidity associated with covid. The "pandemic" was and still is a disaster.
1
karlos777x I agree. iPhone is just about status and people who want some thing that works without too many options. The latter group tends to be ones with disposable income so its not a problem for them to shell out the extra. Personally I will not buy an apple product. Noted though that I had an iPhone for 1 year that was assigned to me on a project. Not my money. Not my call. Anyway Apple is a closed system where things are propriety. I strongly disagree with that.
1
Really? People are so damn naive. Add 10 to 20 years to that estimate.
1
Sounds promising. Better medical tech is always welcomed.
1
el ro what happens when there is no work so the work does not fall on less people. The machines are 100 times faster and way better so there is no point employing people.
1
15 years ago I told my friends this will happen. It was obvious. What you didn't touch on is access to law enforcement to ascertain how an accident occurred. I expected that to happen too.
1
Have to do something to avoid the wrath of the public but in the background they have to let many things slide too. I am sure Putin was betting on that.

👍
1
Definitely. It takes resources to build a robot. Lot less is required to replicate advanced software.
1
@praveenneevarp4822 actually that only proves the telescopes of the day were accurate.
1
Our manufacturing is orders of magnitude better than the 60's. Out material science is vastly superior. Our computing is millions to billions of times better (faster, smaller, minuscule power consumption etc). Computer simulations is common proactice now as opposed to calculations manual calculations. NASA has the original machines and plans. Surely common sense would dictate that NASA or contractors that are intended to support NASA would start from that point and progress it. Clearly this has not happened. Looks almost like the technology was lost and everyone started over from scratch with completely different approaches. Pull back and look at the facts.
1
@waffleboomerang6643 the space industry is sad. Name one other industry where they cannot even replicate what was done 50 years ago (specifically landing on the moon) after spending billions.
1
Sketch a script and get a movie. Entertainment will never be the same.
1
This is a lot more complex. You have considered robots but what about AI software? In fact very shortly all of us may be out of a job. Yes you too Dagogo. AI bots will learn from your videos and probably make them better than you soon enough. Society needs to rethink our present structure of value through labour. Maybe we automate to the point where much of the manual and intellectual labour is not necessary. We simply provide people with the essentials needed for life. Sounds far off but do you hesitate to give someone something like a plastic bag. I don't. Its so cheap its not a consideration. We need basic human needs to reach to that state too. We need to reach that level in all countries.
