@truthpanda1966 The area where the planes were found was a known WW2 scrap dump. The Lend-Lease agreement required the planes to be destroyed at the time, so they were stripped of useful parts and scrapped. I'm heard they have found more stuff including parts of US WW2 planes and some German stuff. If they can get the ID's of the planes they can be rebuilt by collectors and/or added to various museums. These old dumps could also have unexploded ordnance so no surprise that they have been there for so long.

@sergeyb8 There aren't many flying Hurricanes, so if a little publicity gets the wrecks to museums for rebuild as part of an aid exchange, I'd be OK with that. Moving war material (even antique) through the export/import process is a complicated effort.
